“I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, Magnify the Lord with me, and
let us exalt His name together!
I sought the Lord, and He answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed…
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them
Oh Taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!…
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:1-5, 7-8, & 18
Ciera is Radiant and the Angel of the Lord has encamped around her! He is totally near! Continue praying for her, because the fight has just begun. There really are no words to put down. So far, Ciera has had one week of chemo and had a chemo treatment two nights ago. Yesterday was the worst day yet and today they wheeled her into the clinic to give her benadryl, fluids, and ultrasound her kidneys.
This is what her mom wrote on their “Fight like Ciera” page last night:
“Today has been the worst! Ciera has so many meds she is taking now and her body is completely exhausted. Chemo that we were going to receive on Thursday was moved to yesterday. So we were in the med room til 9:30 last night receiving two different kinds of chemo. After receiving a spinal tap with chemo that travels to the brain earlier yesterday morning. That being said her ANC was 0 today. She has been sick all day with vomiting and diarrhea. She has not been able to eat or rest. Her head feels weird and body is just…lifeless. We also had to start lovenox shots and vancomycin ball tonight to top off this day!! If you thought you had a bad day today…think again!! This time around is so strong and going too fast. If you are praying…I ask you pray a specific prayer for her…pray for strength. She is not herself at all. Two of her favorite nurses today did not realize it was her…spunk is gone with her energy. Being her mother this breaks my heart! I shed tears a few times today just looking at her and hating that she is having to go through this again. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…”
My heart hurts for Ciera and her family. We know that she’s fighting… she has her fighting gloves on and she’s fighting back. And we are all there to fight with her…
We grabbed these gloves and decorated them, took pictures of them and then gave them to C!
Not only did we fight for her, She put them on and fought too!!
Once Ciera is in remission, they will start Bone marrow transplant process!! This is a long process and they plan to be at St Judes for about 8 months. Please continue to pray for strength for her and those who love her!!
That picture (from left to right) is Ciera, Me, and Matthew, her boyfriend! Please pray for Matt too!!
Matt and I are running the half marathon this weekend in Nashville!! Root us on as we Run in Honor of Ciera and for those at St Judes who experience this horrible thing called “cancer”
(P.S. Apparently it won’t let me upload any more pictures… because there were like 3 more I wanted to put up!! I’ll add them to the next post!.. I love you guys!)
The Family is accepting donations to help with expenses.. Please consider donating, they need help getting back and forth from here to memphis, paying for food, paying for other needs as well…
